Abstract

The author's final assignment entitled "Art Shop" uses a Vernacular theme. The author chose this title because, nowadays, people, especially young people, have become dependent on the world of technology and have lost interest in works of art. Thus, the idea arose to create an art store which was created not only to buy and sell works of art but to introduce art to the wider community and indirectly continue to preserve art in Indonesia, especially art in the province of North Sumatra. Thus, the art shop design uses a Vernacular theme. The Vernacular theme is an architectural style that grows and develops from the local community. Where this type of architectural style still uses traditional materials from the local area and does not bring in materials from other areas. The materials used for this architectural style also use natural materials such as straw, bamboo, bricks, and so on. In this journal, we will discuss the use of materials, furniture arrangement, as well as comfort aspects for users and visitors to art shops.
