Abstrak

Health is a person's physical, mental, and social state, not just being free from disease to enable them to live productively. In Medan City, maternal and child health is still poor, with a birth rate of 1.90, meaning that each woman gives birth to an average of 1-2 children during her reproductive period. The birth rate in Medan City is 140.19 and the infant mortality rate is 15 babies per 1,000 births, with 17-18 toddlers dying per 1,000 births. Therefore, having a Maternity Hospital with complete facilities can help reduce maternal, infant, and toddler mortality rates. A Maternity Hospital is a place that offers health services that can help patients during their labor. The design of the Maternity Hospital in Medan City will use a postmodern theme that will be realized in the form of the building or the exterior of the building. The application of Postmodern Architecture to the Maternity Hospital will create a metaphorical, hybrid and contextual building.
